WEB Water Announces Moratorium Improvements Project

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 23, 2024

WEB recently took another step to eliminating all the geographical moratoriums in its system. Carstensen Contracting and B & B Contracting were the successful bidders on the two contracts that will run approximately 100 miles of new PVC waterlines to these moratorium areas.

WEB has not been able to install a new service in some of these areas for over 15 years. When these projects are complete at the end of 2025, WEB will be able to install a new rural service in the vast majority of its entire system.

These projects are the final stages of years of planning and construction that began with improvements to WEB’s Missouri River intake structure to increase flow, continued with the expansion of the Treatment Plant capacity to 17 million gallons per day, and includes the ongoing installation of 13.9 miles of new 49.5 inch mainline. Together these projects total a more than $100 million investment in WEB’s system to ensure quality service to all current and future members of WEB.
